The one thing I pray is that you trust The Lord and that it will always remain constant. He is worthy to be trusted. We tend to view God with the same eyes we view people, and people as we know will hurt us and disappoint us. We need to view God with our spiritual eyes. What I mean by that is the eye of faith…. you have to know, that you know, that you know, that He is always there and worthy to be trusted.
Isaiah 50:9(NET) Behold, the Lord God helps me; who will declare me guilty? Behold, all of them will wear out like a garment; the moth will eat them up.
God helps us, protects us, and delivers us from condemnation from others and from ourselves. Whoever comes against us shall be worn out like old clothing and eaten up by moths. We cannot allow others to sell us moth eaten clothing and convince us that its new… In other words do not let others keep reminding you of your mistakes, pitfalls and sins. If you trust in the Lord and know He has set you free, you cannot keep letting others make you feel like its new and you still have to live in it.
Isaiah 41:10-13(NET) 10 Don’t be afraid, for I am with you! Don’t be frightened, for I am your God! I strengthen you- yes, I help you- yes, I uphold you with my saving right hand! 11 Look, all who were angry at you will be ashamed and humiliated; your adversaries will be reduced to nothing and perish. 12 When you will look for your opponents, you will not find them; your enemies will be reduced to absolutely nothing. 13 For I am the Lord your God, the one who takes hold of your right hand, who says to you, Don’t be afraid, I am helping you.
Wow that’s so powerful… I used to live my life in fear all the time, this scripture really put in me in my place because I felt like he was yelling it to me so I can get it. DO NOT FEAR! God will be our strength in times of weakness. He will uphold us and make us right. Trust in The Lord more than you trust in the words and accusations of others. I love verse 12 “When you will look for your opponents, you will not find them; your enemies will be reduced to absolutely nothing.” That says to me that we don’t have to focus and worry about revenge and making others feel like they made us feel, God will handle it for us and we won’t have to become like them in the process…. Amen.
Isaiah 43:2-5 (NET)2 When you pass through the waters, I am with you;
when you pass through the streams, they will not overwhelm you.
When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not harm you. 3 For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your deliverer.
I have handed over Egypt as a ransom price, Ethiopia and Seba in place of you.
4 Since you are precious and special in my sight, and I love you, I will hand over people in place of you, nations in place of your life. 5 Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.
From the east I will bring your descendants; from the west I will gather you.
God will be with us when we pass through water. We will not drown in our circumstances.. He will be not let the fire burn us even though we are going through it. He never said we weren’t going to have any trials, troubles, heartaches, enemies or false accusers. He said we absolutely will but if we trust Him it will not burn us.
We need to hang in there, fire is scary, HOT and uncomfortable and the first reaction is to run away from it or end it by any means necessary… But God! He will get you through it, its a promise not a maybe. God Loves you so much that he would give anything in the world in place of you. As parents we say, we would give our life for our child, well that’s exactly what he’s saying here and Jesus did just that for you already just to prove it.
Vs.5 “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. From the east I will bring your descendants; from the west I will gather you”
He’s saying that when you hang in there, trust Him and have faith, your whole family will be saved by Him and He will bring you all together, He will not leave anyone out.
Psalm 66:10-12(ESV)10 For you, O God, have tested us; you have tried us as silver is tried. 11 You brought us into the net; you laid a crushing burden on our backs;
12 you let men ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water;
yet you have brought us out to a place of abundance.
God will allow you to be tested, tried and even feel like your burdens are crushing you. You may feel like people are just riding over your head, walking all over you or succeeding faster in your eyes. He will allow you to be pushed to what you think your limits are. Why? Because He wants you to trust Him and believe. He will allow these things to build your character. It brings such a deeper wisdom going through it than if someone just told you. It disciplines us to do what is right in spite of the circumstances. It teaches us to keep our eyes on God and not the water or fire in front of us. Did you read the last line in that verse… “yet you have brought us out to a place of abundance.” You will come out sooo much better than you are before you started this process.
Isaiah 51:21-23 (ESV) 21 Therefore hear this, you who are afflicted,
who are drunk, but not with wine: 22 Thus says your Lord, the Lord,
your God who pleads the cause of his people: Behold, I have taken from your hand the cup of staggering; the bowl of my wrath you shall drink no more;
23 and I will put it into the hand of your tormentors, who have said to you,
Bow down, that we may pass over; and you have made your back like the ground
and like the street for them to pass over.
Interesting how we could get drunk without drinking. We can sometimes hold on to things that cloud our minds, our judgement and our walk with The Lord . God will free you from that state of mind if you give what you are holding onto to Him. He doesn’t want you to live in wrath, frustration, bitterness and holding grudges. He will take that cup from you and give it to your tormentors who have been walking all over you like a doormat and treating you as if you were unworthy. To God you are priceless, let Him deal with those people. Just TRUST in the Lord your God and He will get you through all things.
My Favorite Scripture is:
Jeremiah 29:11-14 (ESV) 11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. 13 You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you, declares the Lord………
I Loooooove that God knows the plans he has for me! For you! for all of us who Trust. Plans to give us a future and hope. If we seek Him we will find him because God is not hard to reach, He is not playing hide and seek. If we just trust and pray he will hear us. Praying to me is having a conversation with God, don’t be intimidated like there’s a magic formula. Just pray with respect, Faith, Love and trust that He is hearing you.
Will you trust Him enough for the plans He has for you to be fulfilled?
We must trust The Lord enough to know that HE knows what He’s doing. If we have a drawing of a house and no one to build it, it will never be nothing more than a drawing. Trust God to be able to build the house as well as give you the blueprint.
What’s your take away from this?
