Spiritual Warfare is a constant war waged by the enemy’s spirits and principalities. We need to know that we are in constant war, and constantly being attacked by the enemy. We can’t sleep on the hate he has for us. We need to be aware of our character and the fruit that we are producing. We have to put on our armor and be prepared for the thoughts and actions that follow those thoughts.
The main purpose and cause of the enemy is to make our lives full of hopelessness, pain, suffering, despair, anguish, betrayal, and insignificance. The first thing I have learned is that the enemy wants to destroy Gods credibility in our eyes. Like he did with Eve in the garden.
I know for me growing up I was hurt by many people and the enemy took that pain and frustration and made me mad at the world and at God. It wasn’t until that un-forgiveness in my heart was gone that I was free. The devil will always distort your view if your looking through the wrong pair of glasses. God gives you clear lenses the enemy always distorts the glass.
Satan wants us to remove our eyes from God and His ways, he wants us to trust what he has to offer, what the world has to offer. That could be the reason why we tend to take care of things ourselves when we don’t think God is working fast enough on our behalf. We need to be careful in thinking that the weapons of the world are stronger than our weapons in Christ.
2 Corinthians 10:1-6 Paul’s Defense of His Ministry
1By the meekness and gentleness of Christ, I appeal to you—I, Paul, who am “timid” when face to face with you, but “bold” when away! 2 I beg you that when I come I may not have to be as bold as I expect to be toward some people who think that we live by the standards of this world. 3For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 6And we will be ready to punish every act of disobedience, once your obedience is complete.
The words “WHO THINK”, jumped out at me because he did not say non believers, he said people. We have to know that God is very real and truthful. We as his children need to just believe, have faith in and trust the Lord and his word. When the enemy wars against your mind, you need to have faith and believe the word of God not by the standards that the world creates for you to believe in. “We need to take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ”
He says: All things are possible with God.
Mark 10:27 27 Jesus looked at them and said, With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God
Guess what….. All things are possible with God……ALL!
He says: God will give you all things at the times that you need them so that you can overcome and do the good work of Christ.
2 Corinthians 9:8 8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work
Guess what…It’s worth reiterating it! God will give you all you need, every time, so that you are successful in all that you do that is good work.
I love this scripture: Don’t give up…. Stand!
13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
Take time to ask yourself:
- Do I know what spiritual warfare is all about? Have I ever experienced Spiritual warfare? If so, How?
- How do I feel Satan attacks me to feel like I have a purposeless, angered, frustrated life, and how does he try to create rotten relationships?
- Do you know any Christians that don’t take spiritual warfare seriously? And if so, how do you feel that might hurt them?
- What can I do to prepare myself from the very real attacks that the enemy throws at me?
- What is the armor of? How can you use it?
