You are being attacked by the enemy, even if you are not aware there is an enemy. Lots of us chuck it up to it just being life, and things happen. Yes it’s true that things do happen, to good and bad people, christians and non Christians. You need to ask yourself is it just that things are happening or does it feel like a deliberate attack in your life?
I feel you also need to be aware that there is a very real enemy and he has friends that are more than willing to help him destroy your life as much as possible.
9 “Look,” he said to his people, “the Israelites have become much too numerous for us. 10 Come, we must deal shrewdly with them or they will become even more numerous and, if war breaks out, will join our enemies, fight against us and leave the country.” 11 So they put slave masters over them to oppress them with forced labor, and they built Pithom and Rameses as store cities for Pharaoh. 12 But the more they were oppressed, the more they multiplied and spread; so the Egyptians came to dread the Israelites 13 and worked them ruthlessly. 14 They made their lives bitter with hard labor in brick and mortar and with all kinds of work in the fields; in all their hard labor the Egyptians used them ruthlessly.
He said LOOK, which means he sees something you probably can’t see. He wants to make sure that you do not see your potential. The children of God are many and we are growing, “the bible says every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess the word of God” (Romans 14:11)
Shrewdly means: 1.Disposed to artful and cunning practices; tricky. 2. Sharp; penetrating
Pharaoh seen the children of Israel were many so he attacked them swiftly and sharply so they wouldn’t notice their potential. Many times we are attacked while we are still in the womb. Our past generations can affect our now and our futures if we keep on allowing it in our lives. Things you may have noticed in your life or others are like depression, divorce, having children out of wedlock, poverty, abuse in many forms, or low self esteem to name a few.
Vs. 11, “slave masters” See the enemy wants to make sure that we don’t realize that we have a choice to be free, a choice to serve God and not him. He appoints different kinds of afflictions (Slave masters) on us so that we become slaves to that “thing”, whatever that “thing” means to you. That person, addiction, situation that at times can feel like an overwhelming enslavement. Just keeping your head above water type of feeling, and sometimes you just want to sink into it and have it end.
You have been targeted by the enemy because you are full of potential that the enemy knows he can’t contain nor beat, especially when you know that you are in an army much bigger and more powerful than his…..
You have to be willing to go and see what it is God wants you to do. There is something in all of us that tells us we need more, we should have more. We need to seek God and not run away from him seeking other things to take HIS place. Like: reality TV, relationships, careers, children, money, addictions, even over-serving to keep busy and feel important, etc. etc.
Moses and the Burning Bush
1 Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Median, and he led the flock to the far side of the desert and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. 2 There the angel of the LORD appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up. 3 So Moses thought, “I will go over and see this strange sight—why the bush does not burn up.” 4 When the LORD saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush, “Moses! Moses!” And Moses said, “Here I am.”
You may not be in a place where you feel you know how to seek God or what you should do to start. I tell you God gives you opportunities to find him. Reading this right now is an opportunity. Why would you be reading this otherwise?
See Moses wouldn’t have gone to look at the bush if it wasn’t burning. God caught his attention and Moses paid attention. I wonder how many burning bushes have we walked by and not paid attention? Call it a coincidence, or just say “thing happen”?
Vs. 4 “When God Saw” See if you make an attempt to see God, God will see that you are stopping what you are doing to seek, therefore He responds and calls you by name.
Like Moses said; “Here I am.” All you have to do is respond to the call, then God can start doing a new thing in you and help you through all circumstances.
Now begins the spiritual warfare for YOU between the Lord and the enemy. Why? Because you’re worth it!
Bricks With-out Straw
1 Afterward Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said, “This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: ‘Let my people go, so that they may hold a festival to me in the desert.’ ” 2 Pharaoh said, “Who is the LORD, that I should obey him and let Israel go? I do not know the LORD and I will not let Israel go.” 3 Then they said, “The God of the Hebrews has met with us. Now let us take a three-day journey into the desert to offer sacrifices to the LORD our God, or he may strike us with plagues or with the sword.” 4 But the king of Egypt said, “Moses and Aaron, why are you taking the people away from their labor? Get back to your work!” 5 Then Pharaoh said, “Look, the people of the land are now numerous, and you are stopping them from working.” 6 That same day Pharaoh gave this order to the slave drivers and foremen in charge of the people:
See when God goes to set you free of your bondage, the enemy gets really angry. He wants to keep you enslaved and here comes God to set you free. The enemy has had you in bondage and serving him for a long time, probably thousands of years if you can look back on your past generations. The enemy gets upset because he doesn’t just see that you are his slave but so are All of the future generations that you posses, whether they are your own personal children or all those you come in contact with.
Vs.6 “That same day” When God comes to deliver you, the enemy comes down with more attacks immediately, because he doesn’t want you to think that the blessing from God can really happen. So he tries to steal those thoughts before they can really start. For example; when God gives you an amazing word, moments later you are in a fight trying not to be discouraged, doubtful, angry or frustrated. We are emotional beings so what a better way to cripple us and deceive us but through our emotions. Faith in God is not based on emotions, it’s based on truth, and the truth will keep you out of bondage and set you on a path to freedom.
28 When the Lord spoke to Moses in the land of Egypt, 29 he said to him, “I am the Lord! Tell Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, everything I am telling you.” 30 But Moses argued with the Lord, saying, “I can’t do it! I’m such a clumsy speaker! Why should Pharaoh listen to me?”
For too long your voice and confidence may have been stolen, I know for me people I love and looked for for encouragement and support have disappointed me and have left me feeling betrayed and discouraged.
We live our lives day to day with that secret voice that says “I can’t do it”. The enemy “banks” on that because he’s hoping you will cash in that check. I say write “VOID” on that check and close that account. I now live by the words of Joyce Meyers “Do It Afraid.”
1 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Pay close attention to this. I will make you seem like God to Pharaoh, and your brother, Aaron, will be your prophet.
Have faith in the Lord, He can and will deliver you from your Egypt. You have to spend time in the word and in prayer so that you know exactly what to say to your enemy, don’t think you can’t do it. You can do all things with Christ on your side.
In spite of what the enemy has tried to do to you all your life and/or recently, you have a call on your life and if you are willing to stop what you are doing and check out the burning bush, God will see you and call you to completely change your life.
1 Peter 5:7-10
7 Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. 8 Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. 9 Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your Christian brothers and sisters all over the world are going through the same kind of suffering you are. 10 In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation.
Being a Christ follower doesn’t mean that all things will disappear and you will not have conflict. In-fact you absolutely will have hard times and conflict, the difference is that “after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation.” Trust and believe that I would rather be restored in my life after trials than to have trials destroy me or my family!
What is your take away?
