Jeremiah 29:11 (New King James Version)
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Can you imagine that God when he thinks of you all he thinks about is you having peace? When I think of peace in my life I think of nothing missing; everything intact.
God is thinking about us with peace, prosperity, and love. He wants our final outcome to be successful. That we are entire; lacking nothing. Think about the cross. It is his intention towards us. That he would hang on the cross to set us free from sin and damnation.
If we already have his blessing, peace and love towards us, then now it leaves us with the responsibility for what we do with our lives. The faster we take responsibility for our lives the faster we can move forward.
One way to gain peace is forgiveness, we should let go of others faults towards our lives and move on. We can’t blame someone or something else for what we are not doing.
Genesis 3:12-13 (New King James Version)
12 Then the man said, “The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate.” 13 And the LORD God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?”
The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”
In Genesis God asked Adam why he ate of the tree, Adam blamed God and Eve and Eve blamed the serpent. But before they blamed anyone, they had a choice to make.
Genesis 3:6 (New King James Version)
6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.
The scripture said and SHE saw that the fruit was good.
You ever want to do something so badly that you don’t even think about the cost? Sometimes that same thing we know we shouldn’t do becomes so tempting that it feels almost impossible to stop ourselves. (like eating one cookie or one chip instead of the whole bag)
But I encourage you to look at the cost. Try to look at the end from the beginning entirely. Weigh the cost that your action will have on your life and those you encounter in your life. Adam and Eve didn’t weigh the cost for one moment of pleasure to try and be as wise as God, and now we all pay the price with sin till this day. So think and take responsibility for your life.
Of course with every increase in your life there is much responsibility. Most of us want to walk around like we didn’t know something so we don’t have to be responsible for it. *One thing I always tell myself is if I have to ask if something is wrong, then maybe it is and I should do what’s right.
Luke 12:48 (New King James Version)
48 But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.
Everything I have in life is given to me by God! How responsible I am and how I am behaving will determine how far I will go. Growing in life means, increase, growth and prosperity in all areas but it also comes with growing pains, suffering at times and hurt feelings.
Proverbs 28:20 (New King James Version)
20 A faithful man will abound with blessings, But he who hastens to be rich will not go unpunished.
What does hasten mean?
Hasten= 2. urge, press; expedite, quicken, speed; precipitate
Don’t be so anxious for God to move in your life that you miss the blessings. Yes you must move but don’t jump prematurely. Pray for guidance, wait on God, and listen to his voice. Sometimes we get so caught up in what we want we never stop to listen.
Faithful in the verse means responsible, trusting.. God will not trust someone who is irresponsible. It’s not about his intention toward us; it’s just that a person who is irresponsible cannot be trusted; trust is something that is earned. God loves us either way.
So the question you should ask yourself is; CAN GOD TRUST ME?
ALL of us will fail from time to time, the question is; am I willing to move forward from here?
Luke 12:48b; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.
The more knowledge you have the more responsible you are. Never measure yourself with someone else. That is unwise. We are only responsible to develop our potential we can’t do that looking at someone else’s potential.
James 1:22 (New King James Version)
22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
Things that you may think are not significant to God, is.
Things like, keeping your word to someone.
Following through on something you’ve said.
Being committed to something you started even if it becomes hard.
Being on time when you said you would be there.
These types of things speak about your integrity. These simple things can also speak about how much character and growth you are developing.
Are you real? Do you have a person you take out of your house that you want people to see or is it really you stepping out of the house?
It’s in the dark places and the places that we are alone that we know who we are.
What is your take away?
