God’s mercy will not let you go. It will prevent the enemy from coming into your life and destroy it. His grace and mercy will not let you live in the past sins and condemnation you may have, if you receive what he is offering.
Grace: the free and unmerited favor of God, as manifested in the salvation of sinners and the bestowal of blessings.
Mercy: compassion or forgiveness shown toward someone whom it is within one’s power to punish or harm
You must get passed all of the so called “mistakes” that you have had in your life. I say “so called” because I don’t believe that they are always mistakes, I believe they are life lessons for your personal growth and strength. The deeper you feel your “mistake” is, I feel it’s the deeper your foundation is for the house full of blessings to be built on.
The bigger the house or building the deeper the foundation has to be.
I had to look up Foundations and found they had two definitions: shallow foundations and deep foundations.
A shallow foundation: is a type of building foundation that transfers building loads to the earth very near to the surface. Shallow foundations are susceptible to any seismic effect (earthquake or vibrations) that changes the ground contour, such as settlement or lateral movement, or alters the bearing capacity of the upper soil, such as liquefaction (soil substantially loses strength and stiffness in response to an applied stress)
Deep foundation: To make a deep foundation, you normally dig a trench in the ground, digging deeper and deeper until we come to subsoil, which is more solid than the topsoil, a tall building must have a deep and strong foundation if it is to stand for a long time.
Which kind of foundation do you have?
Do not let the enemy fool you into thinking that no one has ever been there, that you are all alone in your ‘mistake’ or that there is no way God can ever forgive you.
That is a Lie, Lie Lie! God already has forgiven you and wants you to enter into his throne room knowing that he loves you and cares for everything you are going through. God is bigger than any sin, lie or condemning feeling you have. Do you really believe that Your problems and your pride is bigger than God? Bigger than His love? Bigger than His forgiveness? I don’t think so my friend, so stop trying to act like it is!!! (sorry I digress)
You are built to be more than conquerors!
2 Corinthians 4:7-9(NKJV)
Talks about being Cast Down but Unconquered
7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. 8 We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed—
Problems will come, you will feel perplexed about why somethings are happening, why someone is doing something to you or against you. You may feel like it’s all coming down on you at once and feel hard pressed. (when it rains it pours) but you will not be destroyed, God will show his excellence and power with you. You are his treasure.
16Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace (the throne of God’s unmerited favor to us sinners), that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find grace to help in good time for every need [appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it].
There is nothing in this world that you can do to gain extra points for Grace and Mercy. God gives it to you freely if you are willing to have it in your life. Just because we are taught that love on earth is conditional doesn’t mean that God has conditions on the way he loves you.
When you are going through something in your life that seems almost unbearable, God will sustain you, even if you don’t feel like He is even listening. Many times, it is easy to question if God is even real or listening to anything you say when things are going so badly. I tell you the truth; that is when we need to make very important decisions.
Are we going to believe God in the Good and in the BAD? Are we going to keep being unbalanced when it comes to this area of our lives?
2 Corinthians 12:8-10 (Paul wrote)
8Three times I called upon the Lord and besought [Him] about this and begged that it might depart from me; 9But He said to me, My grace (My favor and loving-kindness and mercy) is enough for you [sufficient against any danger and enables you to bear the trouble manfully]; for My strength and power are made perfect (fulfilled and completed) and show themselves most effective in [your] weakness. Therefore, I will all the more gladly glory in my weaknesses and infirmities, that the strength and power of Christ (the Messiah) may rest (yes, may pitch a tent over and dwell) upon me! 10So for the sake of Christ, I am well pleased and take pleasure in infirmities, insults, hardships, persecutions, perplexities and distresses; for when I am weak [in human strength], then am I [truly] strong (able, powerful in divine strength).
Who here is super happy when they are feeling defeated? Weak? Sick? Because Paul understood who Christ was he said he would gladly glory and take pleasure in all these things for Christ. He knew that when he was weak God will be shown strong.
Some Christians I know feel prosecuted just because you don’t like their outfits or you didn’t agree with what they said and leave churches and turn their backs on God or the church, based on hurt feelings.
Let your life be more of God and less of you. Human beings, especially women (speaking for myself) are very emotional creatures, living life based on emotions before knowledge is a very dangerous way to live.
In the end your emotions will lead you astray. You need to make a very concrete, strong decision that no matter what, you will serve the Lord and make it through another day believing more and more until the situation is taken care of and God is glorified.
“I would rather serve the Lord on earth, then die and find out it was not real, than not believe in God and die and find out that he is real”. (but I’ll give you a tip, He is very real)
Once you have made a decision that will change your life, to serve the Lord, you should be willing to stand up for it whether times are good or bad.
I repeat, do not think that the Lord can’t or won’t forgive you or help you forgive others, if you pray with a truthful heart and believe that there is mercy and grace for you, then you will receive it and freely give it to others. God will change situations and move mountains on your behalf. He will give you the desires of your heart if you just delight in him and in his ways. (Psalm 37:4)
When you pray for yourself and for others, no matter what the circumstance God will listen.
This is Moses praying for God to show mercy and grace to the people of Israel because even though God delivered them from Egypt they were still not believing God and they were grumbling and complaining about Him and how He does things.
17And now, I pray You, let the power of my Lord be great, as You have promised, saying, 18The Lord is long-suffering and slow to anger, and abundant in mercy and loving-kindness, forgiving iniquity and transgression; but He will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, upon the third and fourth generation. 19Pardon, I pray You, the iniquity of this people according to the greatness of Your mercy and loving-kindness, just as You have forgiven [them] from Egypt until now. 20And the Lord said, I have pardoned according to your word.
Have you ever had times in your life where you have seen God’s hand move on your behalf and then when that’s over and something less desirable happens; now you feel the need to complain or not like what’s happening in your situation? I don’t know about you but I defiantly have felt this way several times in my life.
God has forgiven you if you have asked and will forgive you if you ask now. Do not think that anyone is above you when it comes to God’s grace and mercy? No One on earth is above you because everyone has faults and everyone falls short from the Glory of God.
God doesn’t have favorites! We are all HIS favorites! (well except for me, I’m really His favorite) …lol
Pray for God to help you forgive those who have hurt you and to learn to forgive yourself so that you can receive the full Mercy and Grace that is waiting for you to obtain it and to show to others mercy and grace in the same way you received it.
Let’s read The Parable of the Unmerciful Servant
21 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?”
22 Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.
23 “Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. 24 As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand bags of gold[b] was brought to him. 25 Since he was not able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold to repay the debt.
26 “At this the servant fell on his knees before him. ‘Be patient with me,’ he begged, ‘and I will pay back everything.’ 27 The servant’s master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go.
28 “But when that servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred silver coins.[c] He grabbed him and began to choke him. ‘Pay back what you owe me!’ he demanded.29 “His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him, ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay it back.’
30 “But he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt. 31 When the other servants saw what had happened, they were outraged and went and told their master everything that had happened.32 “Then the master called the servant in. ‘You wicked servant,’ he said, ‘I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. 33 Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?’ 34 In anger his master handed him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed.35 “This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother or sister from your heart.”
Will you be like the master that showed pity, have mercy and grace and canceled out the debt of the debtor in your life? Or do you choose to be like the debtor who was forgiven and look for someone to make them pay for what they owe you?
How many things in your life has God forgiven you for, but you refuse to forgive yourself or someone else?
Was your sin a “better” sin than theirs? Do you think not forgiving them is acceptable? Was your sin the worse and God can’t forgive it? Do you think not forgiving yourself is acceptable? It is not! It gives the enemy a window in your life to cause condemnation where God has given a pardon.
Don’t be like the servant who was forgiven but didn’t forgive.
*I went through this when my eldest son told me he was gay. I didn’t want to except it, I was so holier than thou and in fact was going to cut him out of my life. While I was crying to God telling him that I will not have a gay son, God yelled at me in what felt like an audible voice. Don’t you dare cut off MY SON (God’s son) because you are the only connection he has to me. The only difference with his sin and yours is that his is exposed and yours is hidden. OUCH! I was forgiven for so much but willing to cut off my son because I refused to forgive him and love him through it. Talk about a double standard. I learned something that day about God. I loved my son with everything in me but My love had pride and conditions towards my son, but God’s Love was unconditional and bigger than mine. It completely wrecked my theology.
Just a few months ago I was talking to my son and I was telling him to cultivate His relationship with God. I told him, son listen I know I’m always talking to you about God but I just want you to go back to Him, my son says, mom I don’t mind you talking to me about God don’t you know that if it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t have a connection to God you are the only connection I have to Him. The exact same words the Lord used over 10 years ago. (this is why no one can tell me there is no God, he’s so real)
I want you to be free from any debts you hold against yourself and any debts you’re holding against others need to be given to the Lord, so you can be free.
Releasing prayer is a combination of several different prayer styles coming together. It’s largely based on Forgiveness. Our main goal in this time of prayer is to lead you into a dialogue with God. A counseling session with the Holy Spirit.
